The Annual North Dakota Human Resources Games and Conference took place on

February 22 and 23 at Barry Hall on the NDSU campus. Around 30 Students attended

the conference from surrounding colleges and universities. The conference started out

with a case competition for the HR Students where they were given a real world

scenario and then had to put together a written paper and oral presentation on how

they would handle the situation. There were four teams, NDSU, UND1, UND2 and

MState that competed in the case competition.

Saturday opened with a breakfast for the students and advisors and morning talks from

Kostas Voutsas, MBA MSHR/OD about Diversity Cookbook: Building Organizations

One Pot at a Time and Generations in the Workforce. Following the speaker, the top

two finalists were chosen based on a written paper and asked to present an oral

presentation on the case study. The top two teams of NDSU and MState both gave 15-

minute presentations on the case and how they would handle a case in the HR world.

Lunch was then provided which gave the students time to mingle and talk about the

roles in the HR world and what the students are interested in pursuing upon

The winning team of NDSU was announced after lunch and will get $250 towards the

trip to Ames, IA for the Regional HR Games on March 22, 23. All the teams that

participated this year are invited to attend the regional games.

This was the first year that the case competition was used for the HR Games so that the

students would get a better idea of what would take place at the Regional Games.

Students from schools that attended the conference were NDSU, UND, MState, and
