The topic of succession planning is front and center in recent news. Successful companies can only safeguard their competitive futures if they have the right leaders to develop and implement their business strategies. While external candidates can help to fill talent gaps, the track record of outside hires is very unpredictable. The preferred approach is to ensure the development of good talent bench-strength from inside the organization. Our discussion will focus on a comprehensive approach to succession management - the assessment, development, and recruitment of talent at all levels of an organization against the company's current and future strategic goals.
