Substance Use Disorder and the Workplace

            **Registration closes 9/9/26**

To Register: Substance Use Disorder and the Workplace

Thursday, September 10th at 8:30 am, presented via Zoom.

Speakers: Patti Senn and Kellie Albrecht

            Program Summary & Key Takeaways:

Substance use disorders affect every industry, every employer size, and every level of the workforce. In fact, the majority of people with a SUD (Substance Use Disorder) are employed, which means this is likely a reality in your workplace, whether you're aware of it or not.

This session will help HR professionals and supervisors understand what SUD looks like on the job, how to respond appropriately when concerns arise, and how to build a workplace culture that supports early help-seeking without sacrificing accountability or safety.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

            • Understand what SUD (Substance Use Disorder) actually is — and why it's a workforce issue, not just a personal one
            • Recognize the real costs to your organization when SUD goes unaddressed
            • Spot observable signs of possible impairment and know when to act
            • Guide supervisors through a performance-based conversation — what to say and what to avoid
            • Know your role as HR when an employee discloses a problem
            • Use language and practices that reduce stigma without lowering expectations

            About the Speaker:

Patti Senn has spent over 25 years in addiction treatment and recovery — as a clinician, advocate, and someone with 31 years of long-term recovery.

She founded Soul Solutions Recovery Center in December 2021 and serves as its Executive and Clinical Director. Soul Solutions offers a distinct approach to addiction treatment and recovery, with a strong emphasis on long-term recovery management, family programming, and community connection through Hope and Coffee.

Patti holds a Master of Community Counseling from Minnesota State University-Moorhead and carries the field's highest credentials: Licensed Master Addiction Counselor, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and NAADAC's Master Addiction Counselor certification.

Kellie has a deep commitment to fostering growth in nonprofits in the region. Her expertise in philanthropy and relationship building ensures the mission of Soul Solutions Recovery is there for those who need it. To Register: Your Employer Brand Is Already Out There, Whether You Built It or Not

                        Tuesday, December 1st | 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Presented: Avalon Events Center OR Virtual

                        Speaker: Amanda Shilling

                        Program Summary

Your employer brand exists right now, on Google, Indeed, Glassdoor, in what your people post, and in how candidates get treated. The only question is 'who's steering it?' We'll cover how to take the wheel to recruit and retain in a way that not only feels good but also helps increase revenue.

                        Takeaways

                          1. Candidate-journey mapping

                          2. Recruitment messaging structure that isn't "competitive pay and great culture"

                          3. An audit attendees can run the next day

                          4. A strong understanding of why HR is the heartbeat of a brand

                            About the Speaker

Amanda is a brand strategist who refuses to settle for surface-level marketing—and that includes the brand your company wears to job seekers. For 24 years, she's been building brands that drive measurable growth. As Founder + CEO of MINT Brand Marketing, she's led hundreds of businesses through sharpening their message, elevating their presence, and cutting through the crap. Amanda knows a brand isn't just what you say to customers. It's what shows up online, what your people post, and how candidates get treated before they ever sign an offer. The same discipline that wins customers wins talent, and most companies are leaving that brand on autopilot. She'll show you how not to.
